Pricing

Thanks to contributions of the NWO Meeting Fund , ZonMw, and in-kind contributions from other organisations, we can keep costs for this week-long retreat relatively low. 

What you get

  • Four nights in a 2 pp shared or single (limited availability) basic bedroom. Some rooms have a private bathroom; there is a gender neutral toilet building for other rooms. Wheelchair accessible or ground floor rooms are available.
  • Full boarding (no meat) from Sunday 15:00 until Thursday 12:00 including a take away lunch for on the road.

Included

  • Lots of unconference style team work and sessions;
  • A workshop Create visibility for your amazing work! How to promote your (Open Science) Initiative, Research or Service
  • Activities in nature;
  • 1-on-1 mentoring conversations with other participants;
  • Access to a 7-gear bike;
  • Lots of games;
  • A getting to know each other session and a social event –but only if you wish to join!
  • The opportunity to shape your own agenda and to propose activities yourself.

Not included

  • Drinks and snacks at the bar in the evening

At Dopersduin we are surrounded by nature, and people will cook for us, but we are expected to make our own beds, help with tasks like clearing tables and we need to get our own drinks from the bar.

Costs

  • Shared bedroom: â‚Ĵ 570,-
  • Single bedroom : â‚Ĵ 670,- (limited availability)

Stipend

We have been able to set up a stipend via the NWO Open Science Meeting Fund. This means we can lower the costs for attendance to â‚Ĵ 200,- for 12 participants who have difficulties to get reimbursement via their institution. This stipend is mainly aimed at Early Career Researchers (max. 5 yrs after PhD). You can let us know if you need this stipend when applying; also if you are not an ECR. We will get back to you about the stipend as soon as possible.

Bring your family

If you wish you can bring your kids/friend/partner, if they can stay in your room. This is limited availability and self-paid. Children are welcome, and the venue is very child friendly, but we do expect that someone is coming along to take care of them, since we can’t offer child care. Costs for adults are 570,-. Children under 4 can stay for free, children from 4 to 12 yrs for 275,- if they stay in your room (cots and extra beds are available). There is no discount for shorter stays.

Refund

Please be aware that refunds cannot be offered after March 11.
